Sleepy Productivity

As I said on Friday, Hubby and I took a 4-day weekend to celebrate our anniversary and his birthday.  As lovely and relaxing as the weekend was, I always find it more difficult to get back in the swing of things coming off of a long weekend, and it is even worse when there are two long weekends in a row.  🙂

That is not to say I wasn’t productive yesterday–I managed to clean the house, bake a batch of breakfast muffins (Yum!), and wash, dry, and fold 4 loads of laundry.  In between, I wrote 3,411 words toward my Camp NaNoWriMo novel.  Heck, I even managed to squeeze a shower in there! 😉

Not bad for a day’s work.  Still, the only reason I got so much done was because if I didn’t keep moving, I was going to spend the day sleeping.  🙂 Instead, I walked around looking something like this 😉 :

Do you find yourself struggling to get back on track after a few extra days off? Ever need a vacation from your vacation? 😉 Have any awesome tips for non-caffeinated energy? Please share! 🙂

  1. Arggg….I have the worst time reclaiming my groove after time away. I’ve tired to alleviate what I know is coming by bringing some pages of the WIP on said vacation, thinking that if I can just keep my writing mojo in tune it won’t be so painful once I’m back home. Nope. Unless you happen to be vacationing with another writer, those hoped for writerly interludes generally can’t/don’t happen beneath the glare of disbelieving eyes when one boots up the laptop, or pulls out a notebook after a day of vacation debauchery. There has to be a better way– I just haven’t found it :-O

  2. OMG cutest dog EVER!! I want to own him. LOL!!
Vacations are fabulous and awful at the same time. I find it soooo hard to get back to real life after time off. It’s like a shock to my system. Sucks. LOL!! Here’s hoping you managed better than I normally do….hahaha!!
